Positive About Your Ability

Who We Are

PosAbility is a Cambridgeshire based charity offering chair-based exercise and one-to-one support to people living with long-term neurological conditions including, but not limited to, Stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Muscular Dystrophy.

The charity was set up in Ely but has now expanded to five groups in four centres (Histon, Ely, Littleport and Soham).

We run chair-based exercise (CBE) groups for people living with long-term illnesses, including, but not limited to, Strokes, Parkinson’s, Neurological Conditions, Multiple Sclerosis and Muscular Dystrophy in Cambridgeshire. All our groups offer professional and effective programmes and 1:1 support to our clients.

PosAbility is formed of a Board of Trustees, qualified exercise professionals (instructors) and volunteers.

All instructors are fully trained by Later Life Training (accessed through the Cambridgeshire Falls Prevention Team) in delivering chair-based exercise and/or Otago programmes. We have had input from the Cambridgeshire Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) team. We also ensure the quality one-to-one programmes by regularly consulting a specialist neuro-physiotherapist on staff training and clients’ individual programmes.

All staff members and volunteers have been DBS checked.
